HSE Manager
Location: İstanbul, European side (Site-based in Istanbul – Turkey)

Job Description

- Reporting to the Project’s HSSE Director, you will be responsible for managing health & safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures - in compliance with international performance standards (EBRD, IFC, Equator Principles) and national regulations.

- In the frame of our road and infrastructure project, you will manage all HSE processes. As such, you will:

·       Ensure implementation of project activities in line with International Finance Institutions’ standards and Turkish legislation of HSE aspect by in-depth and detailed understanding.

·       Manage the implementation of ESIA, ESMP, ESAP, and all management plans, in cooperation with the EPC Contractor, in alignment with each party’s contractual responsibility; create performance indicators and report gaps; cooperate with all parties to avoid and minimize gaps to ensure aligning with Project ESHS management system requirements based on management plans, supporting sub-plans and method statements.

·       Manage all internal / external audits of H & S, and environmental practices.

·       Oversight of the EPC and sub-contractors’ activities, ensure and maintain HSE plans and procedures, identify risks, contribute to preventive measures and communication, develop training, supervise and make recommendations.

·       Coordination and supervising of the HSE field activities at the construction site.

You will follow the shareholders and funders requirements, monitor and report H & S and Environmental related activities and provide technical expertise on key issues.

Qualifications

·       Graduated with a MSc or equivalent in a relevant field (Engineering, Environmental or relevant), you have a deep experience (10 years minimum) in implementing HSE policies in the frame of international funded projects (preferably infrastructure projects). You have a perfect mastery of EBRD and IFC performance standards.

·       Strong Health and Safety, Environmental engineering skills (with experience in infrastructure or relevant linear projects and Public-Private Partnership projects)

·       Very good ability to manage relations with community and other stakeholders.

·       Experience of managing an HSE team.

·       Knowledge of the life cycle of an infrastructure development project.

·       Experience in project management.

·       Ability to manage complex situations with rigor.

·       Excellent written and spoken English.

·       Good reporting skills.

• Experienced in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 Management Systems; ISO14064 knowledge is a plus.
