Scope of Work

As Chief Accountant, I fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them, plus our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness. 

Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and its strategic planning and development and ensure all directives, practices and initiatives are implemented, embraced, adopted within the hotel/resort.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Chief Accountant, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Finance department within Six Senses financial operating standards. In conjunction with the Director of Finance and other executives, I am a key participant in setting the strategic direction of the resort.

• Establish and maintain effective management of the property’s accounting practices and provide a flow of financial information and reporting to all divisions and departments, Home Office and the owners.
• Perform statutory responsibilities related to government bodies, banks & financial institutions, insurance etc.
• Finalization of books of accounts and smooth running of the accounts department.
• Reconcile and ensure that proper up to date books of accounts are kept all the time.
• Ensure that the intercompany current accounts are up to date and reconcile with sister companies’ timely manner.
• Coordinate external, internal and other various audits take place time to time and ensure that all information required for auditors are provided. 
• Ensure internal controls are in place to provide compliance with financial, legislation and taxation requirements.
• A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts in line with brand and statutory requirements.
• Ensure that interaction and communications between departments within the property are clear and effectively maintained to support the smooth running of the property.
• Instill a revenue and cost-focused philosophy through training and education so that all hosts are fully engaged with driving revenue opportunities and managing costs.
• Work closely with Director of Finance in developing strategies and tactics which support revenue generation.
• Ensure that all activities within the Finance department are carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law.
• Minimize payroll costs by maximizing productivity and efficient scheduling of hosts.
• Prepare and submit legally required and confidential documentation related to the operation.
• Complete accurately all corporate reporting requirements for the role.
• Attend or conduct the designated meetings and briefings as instructed by my Manager.
• Perform any additional duties given to me by my manager.

Qualification

To execute the position of Chief Accountant, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

• Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent and 3-5 years in hotel accounting or audit with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Technical skills include advanced MS Office, Opera, Outlook platforms and l MC, plus able to operate   and to perform calculations. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including POS, PMS and CRM platforms.
• CPA and SMM preferred.
• Fluent in English & Turkish; I understand that additional languages is preferred.
